Kabaeva's father received a stake in Rosneft's Arctic project
One of the beneficiaries of Rosneft’s major project “Vostok Oil” in Taymyr is Marat Kabaev—the father of Alina Kabaeva, who is rumored to be Vladimir Putin’s possible partner and the mother of his children. In the spring of 2026, he acquired a 25% stake in “Taimyr Invest,” a company engaged in large-scale logistics operations at a Rosneft facility.
In 2024, “Taymyr Invest” faced significant tax claims. Court documents indicated that the company had evaded taxes using shell companies. Following two audits, the tax service assessed the company more than 3 billion rubles in back taxes and approximately 800 million rubles in fines.
After the tax claims were filed, Marat Kabaev became one of the co-owners of Taymyr Invest. He stated that the decision to invest in the company was made following a conversation with Nikolai Patrushev, a former FSB director and Putin’s aide. Kabaev explained his decision as a desire to help his partners build a strong and socially responsible company.
In 2024, “Taymyr Invest’s” revenue rose to 55.3 billion rubles, up from 13.2 billion a year earlier, while net profit totaled 1.6 billion rubles. Court documents indicate that the company’s main client is “Sinara Stroykomplekt”—a contractor for “Vostok Oil” linked to billionaire Dmitry Pumpyansky. According to “Sistema’s” calculations, from June 2021 to April 2026, “SinaraStroyKomplekt” received nearly 900 billion rubles under contracts with “Vostok Oil.”
In early September, Rosneft launched the Vostok Oil project and began shipping the first crude oil through the new Bukhta Severna terminal. To implement the project, the company built a 790-kilometer-long oil pipeline. In 2023, Igor Sechin estimated the investment required for the project at approximately 12 trillion rubles, and its resource base at 6.5 billion metric tons of oil and 10 trillion cubic meters of gas.

Lavrov stated that Russia will await new proposals regarding negotiations.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has not yet decided whether to attend the G20 summit and, consequently, whether to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy effectively proposed to the Kremlin leader that they hold a face-to-face meeting during the G20 summit in December 2026.
