Europe's security ranks only fourth on the U.S. list of priorities — Whitaker
European security remains an important issue for the U.S., but ranks only fourth among American priorities, said Matthew Whitaker, the U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO.
According to him, to maintain its global power, Washington needs allies who are also strong and capable of taking on more responsibility for their own security.
Whitaker emphasized that this, he said, is precisely what President Donald Trump demands, and that NATO works every day to strengthen its allies.
