Belarus Warned Poland of a Terrorist Attack Against Tikhanovskaya's Children, According to Media Reports
Belarus informed Poland of an alleged plot to carry out a terrorist attack, which, according to Minsk, involved a possible attack on the children of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the leader of the Belarusian democratic opposition. After receiving this information, Polish intelligence agencies conducted an investigation.
According to the publication, the source of the information was Roman Protasevich, a former Belarusian opposition activist.
On his Telegram channel, he claimed that Belarusian activist Denis Dashkevich, who has been living in Poland since 2022, was allegedly seeking information about the whereabouts of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and her children.
According to Protasevich, Dashkevich was allegedly considering an attack as a way to draw attention to his own situation after Poland revoked his refugee status.
Denis Dashkevich himself stated that he only learned of these accusations from journalists.
“I’m a bit in shock. Neither Protasevich nor any Belarusian propagandists have contacted me or asked for an interview. I don’t even know Roman Protasevich personally. I don’t understand why he wrote that,” he said.
The activist confirmed that he had mentioned Tikhanovskaya’s children in private correspondence, but attributed this to his difficult psychological state.
“I was acting on impulse and did indeed write something along the lines of, ‘What, should I get rid of Tikhanovskaya’s children so that people would pay attention to my problem?’ to several human rights activists. I admit that. But I didn’t take any action: I didn’t look for her, didn’t write to her, and didn’t express this publicly anywhere,” Dashkevich noted.
He also added: “When a person receives such a document (regarding the revocation of refugee status—Ed.), they realize that death is effectively awaiting them in Belarus. This is no excuse, but I was in a very difficult emotional state.”
According to Dashkevich, after his private correspondence allegedly came to the attention of the Belarusian security services, Minsk relayed information to Poland through official channels about a possible terrorist attack being planned.
After that, officers from Poland’s Internal Security Agency visited the activist.
“They showed me the documents: a Belarusian minister had passed on information to the Polish side stating that a terrorist attack was being planned in Poland. As far as I understand, my last name wasn’t even mentioned there at first, but they were talking about me,” he said.
Dashkevich reported that he provided Polish law enforcement with his correspondence and the necessary explanations. According to him, the investigation lasted several days and has already concluded.
At the same time, Poland’s Internal Security Agency has not officially commented on the results of the investigation.

As a reminder, German law enforcement and special services have managed to prevent nearly 30 Islamist terrorist attacks over the past decade. The federal government emphasizes that the fight against Islamism remains one of the key priorities of state security policy.
Belarus has alerted Poland to a possible terrorist attack on its territory. Warsaw responded that the security services investigate every report of a potential threat but do not disclose details of their operations.
