Biohacker Brian Johnson has been diagnosed with an incurable disease – New York Post

Brian Johnson, a 48-year-old biohacker known for his experiments on slowing down aging, reported that he has been diagnosed with incurable autoimmune gastritis. According to the entrepreneur, the disease—which affects only 2–5% of people—causes his immune system to attack his own parietal cells, causing his “stomach to eat itself.” Despite irreversible changes in his body and nutrient deficiencies, Johnson plans to explore experimental ways to manage this condition.

The biohacker attributes the development of the disease to years of chronic stress, past struggles with excess weight and depression, as well as poor nutrition during childhood. The diagnosis was made after extensive testing, prompted by chronically low levels of the protein ferritin, which did not rise even after taking iron supplements. Further blood tests for biomarkers and a stomach biopsy confirmed the presence of an autoimmune process, which turned out to be closely linked to hypothyroidism—a thyroid disorder Johnson has suffered from since the age of 21.

Modern conventional medicine acknowledges that this condition cannot be completely cured and offers only management in the form of vitamin B12 injections or intravenous iron infusions, one of which the patient has already undergone. However, Johnson stated that his team will not limit itself to standard therapy. The specialists plan to regularly monitor levels of iron, gastrin, and chromogranin A and perform repeat biopsies to develop and test new experimental treatments, according to the New York Post.

Brian Johnson is a well-known American entrepreneur and venture capitalist who has gained worldwide fame as one of the most radical biohackers of our time. He made his fortune in the tech industry by founding the payment system Braintree, which he later sold to eBay for $800 million. After that, he focused entirely on longevity and biotechnology.

He is best known for a large-scale personal project called Blueprint, on which the entrepreneur spends millions of dollars every year. The goal of this experiment is to optimize the functioning of his entire body and restore the biological age of his organs to that of an 18-year-old. To achieve this, Johnson follows an extremely strict regimen that includes daily consumption of a precisely calculated number of calories, taking dozens of nutraceuticals, specific physical exercises, and continuous medical monitoring.

In 2023, Brian Johnson underwent a blood transfusion from his 17-year-old son. He spends millions every year to maintain the body and health of a young man.
