Blogger Laura Lumer spoke out in defense of the Azov fighters

Laura Loomer, an American journalist and blogger close to Donald Trump, publicly criticized conspiracy theorist and podcaster Alex Jones over his allegations regarding the National Guard’s 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov.”

The dispute arose after Jones expressed outrage over Lumer’s interview with Andriy Biletsky, the founder of “Azov” and commander of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, comparing the unit to the Nazis. In response, Lumer emphasized that Jones has no moral right to criticize her, since he himself had previously interviewed Viktor Bout, a Russian arms dealer convicted in the U.S.

She reminded him that Bout had been sentenced by a U.S. court to 25 years in prison for conspiracy to kill U.S. citizens and supporting terrorism, and called on Jones to stop currying favor with the Russians.

The blogger had previously publicly acknowledged that she had been mistaken in her assessments of Ukraine.
