The UK has revoked the accreditation of a Russian diplomat in response to Russia's actions
The British Foreign Office summoned the Russian ambassador and announced the revocation of the accreditation of one of the Russian diplomats in London.
This was announced by the country’s government.
This decision was a response to Moscow’s actions, which on March 30 accused a British diplomat of espionage and expelled him from Russia.
London emphasized that it strongly condemns this decision and the associated public smear campaign, calling such actions unacceptable.
The British government also stated that it would not tolerate pressure or intimidation of its diplomats and warned that any further steps by Russia against British diplomatic personnel would be viewed as an escalation and would receive a proportionate response.
The UK government is introducing stricter controls on export licenses to block the supply of sanctioned goods to Russia via third countries. The new system will allow authorities to require manufacturers to obtain a license even for goods that previously did not require special permits, if there is suspicion that the country of destination is aiding the aggressor.
The UK is warning of an increased threat of cyberattacks supported by the governments of certain countries.
