Britain has charged suspects in an attempted break-in at a nuclear submarine base

Two individuals—an Iranian national and a Romanian national—have been charged with attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Clyde naval base in Scotland.

This was reported by the Scottish police.

The individuals in question are a 34-year-old Iranian man and a 31-year-old Romanian woman. They are scheduled to appear before Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, March 23.

Law enforcement learned of the incident involving the intrusion into the base the day before.

The Clyde base, also known as Faslane, is home to the British nuclear submarine fleet, including submarines equipped with Trident missiles.

In the UK, two people have been charged after attempting to enter a naval base where nuclear submarines are stationed. The individuals in question are citizens of Iran and Romania who were detained following the incident in Scotland.
