Ukraine may soon have its own anti-aircraft missile systems to defend against enemy air attacks. Work on these systems began as early as the 2000s.
According to experts, the full development cycle for such systems could take 5–10 years, but thanks to existing research and development, this timeframe could potentially be reduced to 2–3 years.
This was emphasized by aviation expert Bohdan Dolintse on the “Kyiv24” TV channel.
According to him, producing an air defense system from scratch could take 5–10 years, but based on existing developments, this timeframe could be reduced to 2–3 years.
“Ukraine, in principle, has certain developments in this area. Since the 2000s, Ukraine has been developing a number of missile systems. These include, in particular, the GRIM-2 strike ballistic complex or the SAPSAN. There have also been certain developments in the area of anti-aircraft countermeasures,” the expert noted.
