France is bracing for record-breaking heat for May — BFMTV
A heatwave is expected in France this week, with temperatures in some parts of the south reaching nearly 40°C.
This was reported by the popular French TV channel BFMTV.
Forecasters predict a sharp rise in air temperatures across the entire country, which will result in temperatures significantly exceeding the seasonal norm.
Meteorologists have already identified the timeframe for the hottest period, after which the situation is expected to stabilize.
“According to forecasts, the peak of the heat is expected between May 25 and 28—after which there should be a sharp drop in temperature of more than 10 degrees, closer to seasonal norms,” experts note.
Citizens and numerous tourists are urged to exercise caution while outdoors.
The hot air mass will affect southern regions the most, though high temperatures will also be recorded in the capital.
On Monday, temperatures in Bordeaux in the south of the country are expected to reach 36°C, and on Wednesday and Thursday—up to 40°C; in Paris, temperatures will reach 34°C at the start of the week and 35°C a few days later.
Temperatures around 35°C will be observed in many parts of the country.
Ukraine will not be affected by the abnormal heat forecast for Western European countries, and the wave of extremely high temperatures will remain outside our region.
