Britain seized a commercial vessel near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz
A British naval task force reported the seizure of a commercial vessel near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. According to available information, following the incident, the ship began moving toward Iranian territorial waters.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated that the vessel was seized by “unidentified individuals” 38 nautical miles off the coast of the United Arab Emirates in the Gulf of Oman.
At the time of the incident, the ship was at anchor.
According to British sources, the vessel was located near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz—one of the most critical routes for global maritime energy transportation.
At the same time, the ship was a considerable distance from the UAE coast.
The UKMTO facilitates coordination between military forces and commercial vessels in the region and monitors the security situation on key maritime routes in the Middle East.
The circumstances of the vessel’s seizure and information about those involved in the incident have not yet been officially disclosed.
As a reminder, Lithuania plans to join the international mission to ensure safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently still being organized.
