The State Bureau of Investigations is conducting searches at Vyriy Industries. Investigators are looking into possible overpricing of drones that were supplied to the government in 2025 under multi-billion contracts. The company states that it is cooperating with the investigation and attributes the situation to a smear campaign against it.

Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations are conducting searches at the drone manufacturer Vyriy Industries. Law enforcement officials are investigating possible artificial inflation of the cost of drones that the company supplied to the government under contracts in 2025. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations and confirmed by the company itself.

According to the bureau, the investigation is examining whether the price of the drones was inflated by the unjustified inclusion of excessive production, administrative, and other costs in the cost price. According to the SBI, these circumstances formed the basis for the investigative actions.

Vyriy Industries reported that, as early as the day before, posts began appearing on anonymous Telegram channels containing accusations against the company and its CEO, Oleksiy Babenko. “A coordinated information campaign was launched the day before against Vyriy Industries and the company’s CEO, Oleksiy Babenko. Posts containing manipulative and unsubstantiated allegations appeared simultaneously on a number of anonymous Telegram channels and related resources,” the company stated.

Vyriy confirmed that law enforcement is conducting searches and emphasized that it is cooperating with the investigation and providing all necessary information in accordance with the law. At the same time, the company speculates that the simultaneous launch of the information campaign and the investigative actions may be part of an attempt to discredit the manufacturer. “The company does not rule out that the simultaneous launch of the information campaign and the investigative actions may be part of attempts to discredit Vyriy Industries. Such actions could benefit both the enemy and unscrupulous market participants seeking to disrupt drone deliveries and slow the development of Ukraine’s defense industry,” the statement reads.

Despite the investigative actions, the company assured that it continues to operate as usual and is fulfilling all its contractual obligations to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and its partners. As of now, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has not reported issuing any formal notices of suspicion in connection with this case. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and all the circumstances of the case are still being established, according to the SBI.

The Canadian government is discussing with Ukraine the possibility of sending a shipment of firearms—the use of which it had previously banned—to help deter Russia on the battlefield.

The House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament approved the allocation of 764 million Canadian dollars (approximately 587 million U.S. dollars) in military aid to Ukraine. It also approved the allocation of financial assistance and funds for humanitarian demining.
