Free trade agreement

According to Carter, the free trade agreement with China has brought significant benefits to New Zealand and to people who export food to different countries around the world. He linked China’s enhanced role for New Zealand exporters to this agreement.

Carter also said that he is working to involve more young New Zealanders in engagement with China. In his view, the future of these relations depends not only on contacts among the older generation, but also on youth participation.
