US DHS removes ad urging ‘Mr. Singh’ to self-deport
In the United States, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on September 10 removed an advertisement urging “Mr. Singh” to self-deport. This happened after criticism from Indian American organizations and Democratic Party representatives, who called the material “racist propaganda.”

As The Hindu International reports, DHS shared an AI-generated image on social network X as part of a campaign against commercial vehicle drivers without licenses.

The image depicted a man with a brown beard and the caption: “Get off our roads, you don’t know how to drive, Mr. Singh.” The advertisement was styled after the Transformers franchise.
Reaction from organizations and politicians
The Hindu American Foundation, Sikh Coalition, HinduAction, and Coalition of Hindus of North America called the advertisement un-American and racist. California Governor Gavin Newsom and Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi also supported the criticism.
