France names new potential recruiters in Epstein case
The Paris prosecutor's office reported that the French investigation into suspected human trafficking in the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein has obtained the names of other potential recruiters. This was reported by Dawn, citing Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau.
According to Beccuau, investigators have several lines of inquiry. She described Epstein's network as “labyrinthine” and noted that investigating it requires examining dozens of separate connections.
Investigation in France
France opened a human trafficking investigation after the US Department of Justice released a new set of materials in the Epstein case in January. He died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking underage girls for sexual exploitation.
According to the prosecutor, 26 victims have been identified in the case. Eight of them still need to be questioned, as some live abroad. At the same time, 13 of the 26 victims had not previously appeared in any legal proceedings.

The investigation, Beccuau said, has already taken investigators to New York, as well as Saint-Tropez and Cannes.
Representatives of the modeling industry
The prosecutor's statement came after the death of French model scout Daniel Siad. He was accused of helping Epstein traffic women. In July, Siad was found dead in his home before he could be questioned.
French authorities had also previously considered cases involving other representatives of the modeling industry. An investigation into allegations of sexual assault and rape against Gérald Marie, the former head of the European division of the Elite agency, was dropped due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. After new materials in the Epstein case were published, several women called for new investigations into Marie. He denied any wrongdoing and said he had met Epstein only once.
In 2020, French police arrested model agent Jean-Luc Brunel following accusations that he sought women for the American billionaire. Brunel was found dead in prison in 2022.
