The sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines may have been disguised as the filming of an adult movie

Reports have surfaced in the media suggesting that the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in 2022 may have been covered up with an unusual cover story—allegedly the filming of a pornographic movie. This version is outlined in a new book by journalist Boyan Panchevsky. Officially, this information has not been confirmed by independent sources.

The operation to blow up the Nord Stream gas pipelines, which took place in September 2022, was allegedly attempted to be disguised as the filming of an adult movie. This version is reported by the British publication The Telegraph, citing the book *The Nord Stream Conspiracy* by *The Wall Street Journal* journalist Boyan Panchevski.

According to this account, a group of five people—four men and one woman—arrived on the Baltic Sea coast in Germany, where they rented a yacht and posed as tourist divers exploring underwater sites. This cover story was intended to help them avoid suspicion in the event of a possible inspection. The author of the book claims that if the police had shown up, the group members could have explained their activities as the filming of a pornographic movie. “They were supposed to claim they were filming a porn movie in the event of a check,” The Telegraph quotes from Panchevski’s book.

According to the information provided, the operation included a female diver who had previously worked as a model and appeared on the covers of erotic magazines, which could have made this cover story more plausible to outside observers. As noted, the operation, codenamed “Diameter,” was allegedly planned by a group of Ukrainian military personnel and intelligence officers. To carry it out, they enlisted civilian divers capable of working at significant depths—up to approximately 80 meters.

In September 2022, the group rented a yacht in Germany and posed as scuba diving enthusiasts. According to this version of events, explosive devices were then planted at several sections of the pipeline. On September 26, 2022, explosions occurred on the Nord Stream pipeline, resulting in three of the four gas pipeline lines being put out of service. Official investigations into the incident are ongoing, and various versions of events continue to be discussed in the media and among experts, according to The Telegraph.

As a reminder, the Nord Stream pipeline may resume operations with U.S. involvement and bypassing the EU.
