The case of a Russian soldier accused of rape in Zaporizhzhia has been referred to court
Prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General have filed an indictment against a Russian military servicemember. He is suspected of mistreating civilians and raping a woman in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the investigation, the events took place in early March 2022 during the occupation of one of the settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. In mid-April, the Russian soldier attacked a woman inside a local enterprise. To overcome her resistance, he struck her in the face, back, and stomach with the butt of his weapon, after which he raped her.
The accused is a serviceman of the 121st Rifle Regiment of the Mobilization Reserve of the 1st Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces (military unit 08801).
