Halle Berry's ex-husband has accused the actress of abusing their 12-year-old son

According to court documents, Olivier Martinez filed a request for a temporary restraining order against Halle Berry, alleging that the actress physically abused their 12-year-old son, Macheo. He claims the incident occurred on September 26, when the boy allegedly called his father and asked to be picked up from his mother’s home.

Martinez also stated that this was allegedly not the first instance of physical abuse and accused Berry of previously using chokeholds on their son—techniques she had learned during martial arts training. According to him, he wants to obtain sole custody of Macheo.

Meanwhile, Halle Berry’s attorney called Martinez’s filing “entirely baseless and deliberately misleading.” She stated that Berry will continue to fight for her son’s best interests.

According to Martinez, on September 26, the boy was playing a game when Berry walked into the room and began pushing him. The actress’s visitation rights with her son have been temporarily restricted.

Martinez claims that the actress threw her son to the floor, grabbed him by the neck, and began choking him. Berry also allegedly shouted, “Who’s the boss now?”

Court documents state that Berry’s fiancé—musician Van Hunt—was nearby at the time. After the boy began calling for help, the actress’s fiancé entered the room.

Later, Macheo called his father and asked him to pick him up. When Martinez arrived, the boy left the house with Van Gant, who helped him carry his belongings.

Berry’s ex-husband noted that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred. According to him, there have been other arguments between the actress and her son in recent years. Because of this, Martinez filed a petition in court to obtain custody of Macheo and temporarily restrict the actress’s visits with her son.

Incidentally, Halle Berry herself denies the allegations.

Following Martinez’s statements, the court issued a temporary restraining order against the actress. The judge ordered a change to the visitation schedule, noting that joint custody arrangements should be maintained to preserve the bond between Berry and Macheo.

The 
order also changed the hours of Berry’s visits with her son, limiting her time with him on Mondays and Tuesdays (from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), as well as on Saturdays and Sundays (from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).

The temporary restraining order will remain in effect until the next court hearing.
