Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that Egypt would lose the Sinai Peninsula if it attacked Israel. As reported by Anadolu Agency, the politician made the statement in a video interview from his home ahead of Egypt's commemoration of the anniversary of the 1973 war.

“What will make Egypt not attack us? The understanding that if they attack us, then at least there will be no Sinai,” Smotrich said. According to him, such a scenario “will not happen again.”

Egyptian authorities did not immediately comment on the remarks.
