In Ghana, former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu is leading the race for the position of national chairman of the political force. In the final wave of a Global InfoAnalytics poll, he has 48% support among delegates, while Boakye Agyarko has 38%, MyJoyOnline reports.

Paul Afoko received 12% support, while Sammy Crabbe received 2%. The poll data show that Boadu's support declined from 51% on September 2 to 48% in the final wave. Agyarko had 38% in the final poll, the same as on September 17.

The study also assessed the qualities delegates associate with the candidates for party chairman. Boadu had the highest ratings for the ability to unite the party, discipline, connections with grassroots branches, and a strong personality.

Leaders in other races

Incumbent General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong leads the race for this position with 71% support. Sylvester Tetteh has 17%, while Eugene Antwi and Charles Dwamina have 6% each. Kodua's support reached 86% on September 17 and stood at 71% in the final wave.

In the race for national organizer, former Greater Accra Region minister Titus Glover leads with 56%. Ali Maiga received 23%, while Ajenim Boateng received 6%.

In the race for vice chairman, Nana Akomea and Nana Boakye have 19% each, while Mustapha Hamid and Kojo Fosu Boadu have 17% each. Hawa Koomson leads the election for national women's organizer with 62%, while Fusaeni Yakubu Abanga leads the race for national youth organizer with 45%.

Methodology

The poll was conducted from September 24 to 28, 2026, using computer-assisted telephone interviews. It involved 3,263 delegates from all 16 regions of Ghana; the 2026 NPP electoral constituency register was used for the sample. Global InfoAnalytics reported a 98% confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus 1.35 percentage points.
