Yemeni government forces claim capture of Dhubab — Anadolu Agency
Yemeni government forces said they had taken control of the Dhubab district in the western part of Taiz province, as well as strategic positions near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, after clashes with the Houthis. Anadolu Agency reported this, citing the Yemeni army and the state-run Saba agency.
Operation in the Dhubab district
According to Saba, the offensive involved the Nation Shield forces and the pro-government Southern Giants Brigades, supported by the Popular Resistance. A military source told the agency that the operation against Houthi positions and forces was conducted with air support and covered several areas of Dhubab.
The same source claimed that government troops advanced, seized key positions and cut supply lines and routes toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. According to the source, an unspecified number of Houthi fighters were killed or wounded during the fighting, and several pieces of military equipment were also destroyed or damaged.

Statement on a decisive operation
The Southern Giants Brigades separately announced the start of an operation they called decisive against the Houthis in the Bab el-Mandeb area. This came after an order by Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi to begin what the government calls a battle to liberate territories and restore state institutions in Houthi-controlled areas.
Bab el-Mandeb is a strategic waterway connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea and is important for international shipping.
