The European Union has taken a decisive step toward providing Ukraine with substantial financial aid amounting to 90 billion euros.

Brussels has launched the final legal procedure to approve the loan, which is set to become a key instrument for supporting the Ukrainian economy amid the ongoing war.
The issue of allocating funds will be brought before a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU member states, scheduled for April 22.
The main objective of the meeting is to approve a technical amendment to the EU’s multiannual budget, which is the final formal step before actual disbursements begin.
It is noteworthy that this item was added to the agenda without the need for further discussion.
In diplomatic practice, this indicates the existence of a firm prior agreement among all member states, allowing the decision to be adopted as quickly as possible through a written procedure.
The granting of this loan had been in limbo for a long time due to Hungary’s categorical stance, as it exercised its veto power.
However, the current progress indicates that European leaders have managed to find a compromise or leverage to unblock this vital funding.
Once all technical steps are completed, the decision will officially take effect, allowing Ukraine to count on a stable inflow of funds.
These resources will be directed toward covering the budget deficit, social payments, and supporting critical infrastructure that is suffering from constant attacks by the aggressor.
