Estonia is prepared to quickly tighten border controls with Russia should Moscow declare a general mobilization following the State Duma elections. Officials in Tallinn are considering this scenario due to a possible rise in internal tensions in Russia and a change in the assessment of the security situation.

this statement on September 18.
According to him, the government is constantly monitoring the situation in Russia and discussing various scenarios for how events might unfold. If Russia declares a general mobilization, this could serve as grounds for a rapid change in border security measures.
“The border can be closed immediately. The police and border guard service, as well as the Minister of the Interior, are aware of this, and we have the capability to close border crossing points very quickly,” said Mihal.
As a reminder, Estonian authorities revoked the residence permit of a Russian citizen and deported him from the country after more than 250 incidents involving him were recorded during his years of residence. He was also barred from entering the country for a period of ten years.\
Estonia, together with Latvia and Lithuania, is seeking ways to restrict the transit of Russian grain through Baltic ports. Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal stated that grain exports from the Russian Federation—an aggressor state—through Estonian ports are unacceptable, although the volumes are currently insignificant.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna condemned the Russian strike on the SBU building in central Kyiv on September 4.
