EVA Air and Starlux retain five-star Skytrax rating — Taipei Times
Taiwanese airlines EVA Air and Starlux Airlines retained their five-star Skytrax ratings at the World Airline Awards ceremony in London, United Kingdom. As Taipei Times reports, EVA Air also won three first places in global categories, while Starlux was recognized as the world’s cleanest airline.
EVA Air awards
EVA Air received awards for the world’s best premium economy class, the best premium economy amenities and as the world’s most family-friendly airline. The carrier has retained its five-star Skytrax rating for the eleventh consecutive year.
According to the company, it ranked in the top 10 in as many as 18 categories this year. In the overall global ranking, EVA Air placed 11th, up from 12th position last year. Starting December 1, the airline plans to launch five weekly direct flights between Taoyuan and New Delhi.

Starlux and China Airlines positions
Starlux Airlines retained its five-star Skytrax certification for the second consecutive year, having first received it last year. The company began commercial flights in January 2020. The cleanest airlines category assessed cabin cleanliness, including seats, tables, carpets and lavatories.
Starlux rose from 18th to 13th place in the global ranking. Another major international Taiwanese carrier, China Airlines, took 30th position compared with 37th last year. Nine of the top 10 airlines in the ranking are based in Asia; Singapore Airlines took first place, while Air France, in seventh place, was the only non-Asian company in the top 10.
Skytrax has held the World Airline Awards since 1999 based on global passenger surveys about airline products and services. The organization awards its five-star rating following professional audits of airline products and passenger service standards.
