Finland to provide €7 million for Gaza and East Jerusalem hospitals — YLE News
Finland will provide €7 million to support Gaza’s recovery and medical services for Palestinians in East Jerusalem. As YLE News reports, Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs will direct €4 million to the UN Horizon Fund and another €3 million to fund medical services at hospitals in East Jerusalem.
Support for Gaza’s recovery
The Horizon Fund, officially named the UN Palestine Recovery Horizon Trust Fund, is intended to combine immediate humanitarian aid with Gaza’s long-term reconstruction. According to Finland’s Foreign Ministry, the fund also contributes to the implementation of the Gaza peace plan, including the restoration of basic services and the creation of jobs in the region.
Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio said that the fund will make it possible to respond to the large-scale needs of Gaza’s population, including in education, housing, healthcare and the restoration of employment.

Funds for East Jerusalem hospitals
Three million euros in support for the Palestinian Authority will be provided through the EU’s PEGASE mechanism. The funding is intended for medical services at hospitals in East Jerusalem and is planned for 2027–2029.
According to the Finnish ministry, PEGASE is a long-term support mechanism through which around 20,000 Palestinians gain access to specialized medical care at hospitals in East Jerusalem each year.
