Finland and Estonia have reported delays in arms deliveries from the U.S. due to the war in Iran

Some U.S. arms shipments to Europe are being delayed due to the war in the Middle East, particularly in Iran.

This was reported by Reuters.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb noted that certain systems and supplies that were supposed to be transferred by the U.S. to European countries are being redirected to other regions or delayed. At the same time, he emphasized that he sees no cause for concern for his country.

Estonian President Alar Karis also confirmed the delays, specifying that this applies, in particular, to the delivery of HIMARS rocket systems.

According to him, this situation serves as a signal to Europe regarding the need to accelerate the development of its own defense industry in order to reduce dependence on external suppliers.

Earlier, the U.S. informed a number of European countries, including the Baltic and Scandinavian states, of possible delivery delays due to depleted stockpiles amid the conflict in the Middle East.

Iran has presented the United States with a new proposal to resolve the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and end the war. At the same time, Tehran is proposing to postpone nuclear negotiations to a later stage.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran continues to attempt to maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that such approaches are unacceptable to the United States and underscored the importance of freedom of navigation in the region.
