Photo: Israel has destroyed half of Iran's fleet in the Caspian Sea

An Israeli strike on Iran's naval base in Bandar-Anzali destroyed at least one corvette and two missile boats, accounting for about half of the Caspian Flotilla's combat vessels.

This was reported by Defence Blog.

The attack took place on March 19, but its details—the types of weapons used and the scale of the strike—have not been officially disclosed. According to an analysis of published photos, the corvette Hamzeh and at least two Sina-class boats were destroyed.

Iran’s Caspian Flotilla is relatively small and includes one Moudge-class frigate, one corvette, three missile boats, and other auxiliary vessels.

Although this fleet does not pose a direct threat to the U.S. or Israel, the base could have been used to procure weapons, particularly from Russia.

It is noted that the strike is part of a broader strategy to weaken Iran’s military capabilities. According to open-source data, Iran has already lost dozens of ships and boats since the start of hostilities.

Separately, analysts note the loss of the sole expeditionary ship, the INS Makran, which was used for long-range maritime operations.

As a reminder, the U.S. and Israel have different objectives in the war against Iran.

Israel also bombed a port from which Iran was supplying weapons to Russia.
