A fire broke out on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City due to fireworks set off during the U.S. Independence Day celebrations on July 4.
The fire broke out directly on the bridge’s structure while fireworks were being launched from it.
“Flames erupted on the Brooklyn Bridge as fireworks were being launched from it during the festive show,” reported journalists from the New York Post.
According to eyewitnesses and media representatives, emergency responders managed to contain and completely extinguish the fire within one minute.

Currently, relevant agencies and technical specialists are determining whether the iconic architectural landmark sustained any structural damage.
The Brooklyn Bridge, opened in 1883, is one of the oldest and most famous suspension bridges in the United States, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn.
