France has tightened border controls with Spain due to the migration crisis

France has decided to immediately tighten border controls with Spain due to the escalating migration crisis in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in Africa. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced the decision.

Núñez announced that he had taken immediate measures to strengthen controls at the Spanish border.

“In light of the situation that has developed in the enclave of Ceuta, I issued an order yesterday evening to immediately strengthen controls at the Spanish border. In addition, I am deploying the Rapid Border Intervention Force to conduct thorough checks,” said the French Interior Minister.

According to preliminary estimates by Spanish security forces, more than 40,000 migrants have entered Ceuta illegally from Morocco in recent days.

This figure significantly exceeds the numbers recorded during the previous migration crisis in this autonomous city in May 2021, when, according to estimates, more than 10,000 migrants evaded border controls.

The minister announced this on social media.

Italy may close the Schengen Area to Spain due to the migration crisis.

Italy has decided to join the EU’s rearmament funding program.

As a reminder, a former intelligence officer was detained in Italy on suspicion of spying for Russia.

Following the arrest of the former Italian ambassador to Uzbekistan, Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini di Sant’Agnese, Italian visa centers in Russia have introduced stricter rules for submitting applications for Schengen visas.
