Guitarist Troy Nababan performs from a platform atop a stadium in Perth
In Perth, Australia, 38-year-old guitarist Troy Nababan performs for Fremantle Dockers fans from a metal platform atop Perth Stadium. Secured with a safety harness, the musician plays covers of AC/DC and Queen songs during matches at the 60,000-seat stadium, ABC News Australia reports.
Platform at a height of 42 metres
The platform where Nababan performs is located 42 metres above the pitch — approximately at the level of a 12-storey building. There are no railings on the platform, and the ground is visible through the metal grating. According to the musician, even after hundreds of matches, he tries not to look down.
Nababan said that the surface can become slippery during rain. A few weeks ago, he stumbled while moving too actively, and his sneaker caught on the structure. According to him, the safety harness restricts movement like a seat belt when he jumps on the platform.

Working since 2019
The musician got the job after a call from his agent in 2019. The agent was looking for a long-haired guitarist for an unusual performance atop Perth Stadium. Nababan, who is inspired by 1980s hair metal, including the work of Mötley Crüe and Whitesnake, accepted the offer.
Outside matches, the father of two works as a sound engineer and teaches students at TAFE. He keeps about 30 guitars, mostly electric ones, in his studio. Nababan has also become a Fremantle Dockers fan: at first he watched only parts of matches, but later became interested in Australian football and follows sports media and podcasts every day.
