Israeli Foreign Minister Saar says in Slovenia Palestinians will not be deported from Gaza
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said during a visit to Ljubljana, Slovenia, that Israel does not plan to expel or deport Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. He said this on Wednesday at a joint press conference with Slovenian Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer, The Jerusalem Post reports.
Leaving the Gaza Strip
Saar was answering a question about whether Slovenia would support efforts to relocate Gaza residents outside the territory. According to him, Israel does not plan to expel or deport anyone, and this position is in line with international norms and law.
At the same time, the Israeli minister said that Israel would not force people to remain in Gaza. He added that the country would not object to Palestinians leaving of their own free will if another state is prepared to receive them.

Complaint and cooperation
During the press conference, Saar was also asked about a criminal complaint filed in Slovenia on Monday by the pro-Palestinian Hind Rajab Foundation, as well as accusations that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. The minister rejected these accusations and said that the organization is directly linked to terrorist organizations in Gaza.
Saar arrived in Slovenia for the opening of Israel's first embassy in Ljubljana and to meet with Kajzer. The foreign ministers signed an agreement to expand cooperation in education, science, business and tourism. Kajzer said that after a period of less intensive contacts, Slovenia and Israel should step up bilateral engagement.
