Moldova's foreign minister said that Russia is detaining diplomats at the border for hours

Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi stated that Russian authorities regularly detain Moldovan diplomats at the border for several hours, which hinders their ability to perform their official duties.

According to the minister, such actions negatively impact the ability to provide consular assistance to Moldovan citizens in Russia. At the same time, Chisinau, despite its strained relations with Moscow, continues to adhere to international law and the principle of reciprocity.

Popșoi emphasized that Moldova does not seek escalation and advocates for reducing tensions in bilateral relations. He stressed that diplomatic relations must be based on the provisions of the Vienna Convention and respect for international law.

Moldova wants to use peace talks with Russia to reclaim Transnistria.
