Saudi Foreign Minister attends GCC meeting in New York — Asharq Al-Awsat
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah took part in a coordination meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council in New York, United States. The meeting was held ahead of the start of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
Preparations for the UN General Assembly
The talks were held at the headquarters of Bahrain’s Permanent Mission to the UN. Participants reviewed key topics and issues scheduled for discussion during the UN General Assembly.
They also discussed joint efforts and coordinated positions of the Gulf Cooperation Council states on these issues.

Regional security
The foreign ministers discussed current developments in the region and their impact on security and stability. They also separately addressed the development of joint cooperation and coordination to respond to current challenges.
Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Multilateral International Affairs and General Supervisor of the ministry’s Agency for Economic Affairs and Development, Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, also took part in the meeting.
