Foreign ministers of four countries condemn Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia — Asharq Al-Awsat
The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and Türkiye, during a meeting in New York, United States, on September 22, condemned attacks on Saudi Arabia, including recent Houthi attacks. As Asharq Al-Awsat reports, the parties also reaffirmed their support for the Kingdom's sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.
Meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly
The talks took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The ministers discussed the latest regional and international developments and stressed the need to continue consultations and coordination among the four countries to support peace, security, stability and prosperity in the Middle East and the wider region.
In a joint statement, the participants expressed deep concern over the ongoing tensions and hostilities in the region. They stated that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only path to a sustainable settlement and also stressed the need to adhere to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to achieve lasting peace and stability.
The ministers also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's right to defend itself, its territory and its population in accordance with international law and the UN Charter. They separately stressed the importance of ensuring the security and freedom of maritime navigation.

Positions on Yemen, Sudan and Palestine
The heads of the foreign ministries declared their unwavering support for Yemen's legitimate government and the Presidential Leadership Council. They supported the efforts of these bodies to achieve security, stability and development in Yemen through a political process and an inclusive intra-Yemeni dialogue involving different parties.
The meeting participants again declared their support for the rights of Palestinians, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign, viable and territorially contiguous Palestinian state within the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
The ministers also expressed support for Sudan's sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity. They called for the preservation of its legitimate national institutions, opposed any parallel structures, and stressed the need to stop the illegal supply of weapons and the arrival of mercenaries and foreign fighters in the country.
