The foreign ministers of eight countries condemned Russia's disinformation campaign against the Baltic states

The foreign ministers of the Nordic and Baltic countries issued a joint statement condemning the disinformation campaign by Russia and Belarus regarding airspace violations in the region.

This was reported by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement was signed by the foreign ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland.

The ministers condemned Russia’s threats to use force against Latvia and other countries in the region. The statement emphasizes that incidents of drones entering the airspace of NATO countries are a direct consequence of Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine.

They also emphasized that their countries do not permit the use of their airspace or territory for attacks on Russian targets.

The statement notes that Moscow’s accusations and disinformation are aimed at diverting attention from the war against Ukraine and intimidating NATO allies, but such attempts will not succeed.

The ministers also reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine and its right to self-defense.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, commenting on the incident involving the downing of the drone over the country’s territory, stated that this is a consequence of Russia’s war and provocations. He also emphasized that Ukraine has every right to strike Russian military targets.

The responsibility for Ukrainian drones entering the airspace of the Baltic states lies entirely with the Russian Federation, which deliberately directs them into Alliance territory using electronic warfare capabilities. This was stated by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna before the start of the meeting of NATO foreign ministers, reports Censor.NET, citing “European Truth.”
