The commander-in-chief of the Ugandan army has stated that he is ready to capture Iran with a single brigade

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ugandan Armed Forces, Muhuzi Kaynerugaba, announced his support for Israel in the conflict with Iran, asserting that a single brigade of the Ugandan army would be sufficient to capture Tehran.

The son of the country’s current president justified this stance by citing the historical support Israel provided to Uganda in the 1980s and 1990s. Kayneruhaba emphasized that the country’s current economic condition—with a GDP reaching $100 billion—allows it to come to the defense of its ally.

Muhuzi Kainerugaba, appointed commander-in-chief in 2024, is known for his controversial statements on social media, which have previously led to diplomatic scandals, particularly with Kenya. Despite criticism from the opposition and previous suspensions from office, he remains an influential figure in the military hierarchy and supports the political course of his father, Yoweri Museveni. The commander-in-chief emphasized that any attempts to destroy Israel would drag Uganda into war, as the world has grown weary of instability in the Middle East.

European law enforcement agencies are investigating Iran’s possible involvement in a series of attacks on Jewish schools, synagogues, and companies linked to Israel.

As a reminder, the U.S. and Iran may hold talks on ending the war on March 26.
