Kaduna State governor allocates ₦30 million to young innovators
In Nigeria’s Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani fulfilled his promise to allocate ₦30 million to young innovators, providing financial support for the development of technology projects, scientific research and innovation. This was reported by Premium Times Nigeria.

The grant was announced on September 4 during a conference for International Youth Day 2026 in Kaduna. Cheques were handed to recipients on September 16 at the state Ministry of Youth Development.
Among those receiving assistance was a team of computer engineering students from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, which developed a smart walking aid for people with visual impairments. Support was also provided to Al-Amin Mohammed Idris and Shamsudeen Jibril, winners of the National Board for Technology Incubation’s NEXTGEN competition.

Support for research and technology
Funding was also received by Fauziyya Muhammad Auwal of Kaduna State University, the founder of the ASTHERA space technology initiative. The publication notes that she is an astronaut candidate for Titan Space Industries and the first Nigerian female analog astronaut selected for a mission at the LunAres research station in Poland in 2026.
Financial support was also provided to eight microchip developers selected for specialized training under the Kaduna State Human Capital Development Initiative. Youth Development Commissioner Gloria Ibrahim said the purpose of the funding was to help young people further develop their projects.
Information and Culture Commissioner Ahmed Maiyaki called the ₦30 million an investment in ideas, research and the future of young people. He urged grant recipients to use the funds to deepen research, develop innovations and create practical solutions.
