India has joined in supplying sanctioned aircraft parts to Russia — Bloomberg
Indian companies have begun actively supplying Russia with sanctioned spare parts for Western aircraft, helping the Russian aviation sector circumvent restrictions.
This is reported by Bloomberg.
According to the agency, following the imposition of Western sanctions, Russian airlines continue to operate Boeing and Airbus aircraft thanks to re-export schemes via third countries. In addition to China, India has begun to play a significant role in these shipments.
In particular, the Indian company Marine Equipments Centre has sharply increased its exports of aircraft components during the years of full-scale war, supplying Russian airlines with parts worth more than $41 million, of which the Aeroflot Group received about $37 million.
In total, Bloomberg identified at least 30 companies from China, India, Turkey, the UAE, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan that supplied aircraft parts to Russia last year, purchased from Western manufacturers in violation of sanctions.
Russian oil shipments to India have reached a historic high as local refineries seek to make the most of the grace period before it expires.
Global oil reserves could run out within a month.
