At least 19 Palestinians were injured in the occupied West Bank during Israeli military raids and attacks by Israeli settlers. Al Jazeera English reports, citing Palestinian medics and local media.

Injured during raids

According to the Jerusalem Governorate administration, Israeli forces injured three Palestinians who were trying to enter occupied East Jerusalem near the separation wall in Ar-Ram. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams provided assistance to at least 11 residents of the Tubas Governorate, including four children, after they inhaled tear gas during Israeli army raids.

In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, armed settlers beat an elderly man, the Palestinian Wafa agency reported. Israeli forces then raided his home, damaged property and confiscated his family's phones.

Settler attacks and families under blockade

Two young men were hospitalized after being beaten by settlers in Arraba, south of Jenin. In Tammun, in the Tubas Governorate, a 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital after a severe beating; another child was injured in a settler attack. It was also reported that on Friday, Israeli military personnel and settlers killed two Palestinians in separate incidents in Hebron and Jenin.

In Qusra, south of Nablus, the Hassan and Abu Rida families have remained trapped in their homes by settlers for the 14th day. Israeli forces are maintaining a closed military zone around the area. Residents accuse the army of inaction which, they say, is contributing to the possible forced displacement of the families.

UN data on violence

The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said that approximately 780,000 Israeli settlers live in 192 settlements and 400 outposts in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs recorded more than 1,330 settler attacks on Palestinians from January through the end of July — an average of about six a day. According to the UN, more than 2,300 Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes since the start of the year due to settler violence or related restrictions.
