Jordan intercepted four missiles that Iran fired at a U.S. air base

On July 14, the Jordanian military intercepted four Iranian ballistic missiles targeting a U.S. air base in the country. According to a statement by the Jordanian government, the missiles were shot down immediately after they entered the kingdom’s airspace. This followed a demand by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that Amman dismantle U.S. military bases.

The IRGC confirmed the attack through the Fars News Agency, assuring that the strikes were not intended to harm the Jordanian people. The Iranian statement emphasized that there was no hostility toward the country and expressed support for the Palestinian people.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage caused by debris from the downed missiles.
