Iraq has offered the Russians tourist trips amid discussions of EU visa restrictions
Amid discussions about a possible tightening of the European Union’s visa policy toward Russian citizens, Iraq has expressed its readiness to develop tourism cooperation with Moscow and invited Russians to visit the country.
Iraq’s Ambassador to Russia, Abdul-Karim Hashim Mustafa, stated that travel to Iraq is safe, emphasizing that restaurants in Baghdad stay open late into the night and that life in the city is reportedly stable. According to him, regular flights are already operating between the countries, and tourist traffic is gradually increasing. This is being reported by Russian propaganda media.
At the same time, a number of Western countries—including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, and Australia—continue to warn their citizens about the risks of traveling to Iraq due to threats of terrorism and armed incidents.
