Iran attacked U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain
The Iranian military stated that it had carried out strikes on strategic targets and U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. According to Tehran, the attacks were in response to the latest wave of U.S. strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic.
According to Iranian state media, drones attacked the Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, where U.S. troops are stationed.
Iran claims that the strike damaged:
- aircraft hangars;
- satellite communication systems;
- military equipment depots.
In addition, the Iranian military reported an attack on the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
According to Tehran, the targets included power generators, navigation systems, and support buildings used by U.S. military personnel.
There is currently no independent confirmation of the consequences of the strikes as claimed by Iran.
The day before, the U.S. military announced the completion of a “powerful wave” of strikes on Iranian territory, during which, according to their reports, dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facilities were hit.
At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump said during a speech at the White House that he would like to include tariffs on Iranian goods in a sanctions bill against Russia and Iran, which has bipartisan support in Congress.
The publication notes that such a move would have a limited economic impact, since the U.S. imports almost no goods from Iran, but it could complicate the bill’s passage.
It was also reported earlier that a drone attacked a floating liquefied natural gas storage facility owned by an American company in the Egyptian port of Damietta.
At this time, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Prior to this, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi held telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Bulgaria and Cyprus, warning them against making their infrastructure available to support U.S. military operations.
Iran has reached an agreement with China to supply up to 400 man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) to strengthen its air defense system, according to Reuters.
Following the attack on its merchant ship in the Caspian Sea, Iran considered launching a symbolic missile strike against one of Ukraine’s seaports. However, Tehran ultimately abandoned this plan after diplomatic contacts with Western partners and Ukraine.
As a reminder, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi following Tehran’s statements about possible strikes on Ukraine.
Earlier, Tehran accused Ukraine of attacking an Iranian vessel at Israel’s behest.
On the night of July 29, Iran launched a missile strike on one of the U.S. military bases in the Middle East. This was the first attack since the parties announced last week that they would cease mutual strikes.
