Iran is ready to transfer highly enriched uranium to Russia as part of an agreement with the U.S., according to media reports

Iran has agreed to transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to Russia as part of a potential peace agreement with the United States. This involves approximately 400 kilograms of enriched uranium, which Washington had insisted be placed under international control.

This was reported by Al-Arabiya.

According to sources, Tehran is ready to agree to a long-term freeze on its nuclear program instead of its complete dismantlement. One of Iran’s key conditions is precisely the transfer of its uranium stockpiles to Russia.

Iran is also prepared to drop its demands for compensation for U.S.-Israeli strikes in exchange for economic concessions from the U.S.

Among Tehran’s main demands are a long-term phased ceasefire, a political formulation of the agreement that would allow Iran to “save face,” and the separation of the issue of the Strait of Hormuz from the nuclear negotiations.

In addition, Iran insists that Pakistan and Oman remain mediators in the event of new conflicts surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian news agency Tasnim, citing sources in Tehran, reports that the U.S. has agreed to temporarily lift sanctions on Iranian oil for the duration of the negotiations.

Also, according to media reports, Washington has allowed Iran limited peaceful nuclear activities under IAEA supervision and agreed to unfreeze a portion of Iranian assets according to a phased schedule.

However, as Reuters sources note, the negotiations remain difficult due to constantly changing conditions on both sides.

“Both countries continue to constantly change their conditions,” a source told the agency.

As a reminder, Washington presented Tehran with five conditions for resuming dialogue, including the transfer of 400 kilograms of enriched uranium to the U.S. In return, the U.S. is also insisting on a series of additional restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program and a cessation of hostilities.

Earlier, Trump announced the continuation of the military campaign against Iran

The U.S. Central Command stated that Iran has been significantly weakened following the conflict with the United States and is no longer capable of operating with its former military might. Washington claims that strikes on Tehran’s infrastructure and allies will have long-term consequences.

The Strait of Hormuz has once again come to a near standstill

The U.S. military also struck the vessel Touska, which was attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under the Iranian flag despite the blockade.

Recall that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not consider the war with Iran to be over.
