Iran has warned the U.S. of the consequences of a ground operation and is threatening its allies
Iran has warned the United States against launching a ground operation, stating that if such a move were made, Tehran would "set fire" to American troops and intensify attacks on U.S. allies.
This was stated by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, CBS News reports.
“Our shelling continues. Our missiles are in place. Our resolve and faith have grown.” He added that Iranian forces “are waiting for American troops to arrive on the ground to set them ablaze and punish their regional partners forever,” emphasized Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
Ghalibaf also warned of possible strikes against U.S. allies in the event of an American ground operation. He described the U.S. 15-point plan as “their wishes” and stated that the Donald Trump administration is trying to achieve through it what it could not achieve by force.
“As long as the Americans seek Iran’s surrender, our response is clear: we are far from accepting humiliation,” the speaker of parliament concluded.
Currently, the number of U.S. troops in the Middle East already exceeds 50,000, which is 10,000 more than usual. Typically, there are about 40,000 U.S. troops stationed at bases and aboard ships in the region—including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait.
The United States is stepping up pressure on Tehran, forcing the Iranian leadership to seek avenues for negotiations on Washington’s terms.
As a reminder, Trump stated that Iran had offered him the position of supreme leader.
Trump also mentioned the possibility of seizing Iranian oil and the island of Kharg.
