Iran has threatened Bulgaria over the possible deployment of U.S. aircraft

Iran has told Bulgaria that allowing the U.S. to use its territory for military operations against Tehran would be regarded as complicity in “aggression and war crimes.”

The statement came after Bulgarian President Rumen Radev announced his intention to ask parliament to approve the deployment of up to eight U.S. refueling aircraft at a Bulgarian airbase.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called on Bulgaria not to become an “accomplice to aggressors and lawbreakers.”
