Iran Has Set Conditions for the U.S. to Open the Strait of Hormuz – CNN
Tehran has announced a list of demands for Washington, and has stated that it will agree to open the strategically important Strait of Hormuz to shipping if these demands are met. This was announced by Mohammad Bagher Zolgadr, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Among Tehran’s key conditions are the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade, the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region, a complete cessation of hostilities, the payment of compensation for damages incurred, and the restoration of access to frozen Iranian assets.
The official stressed that the strait will remain closed until the U.S. changes its behavior. The White House has not yet commented on the situation.
