Iran claimed to have launched a missile strike on a U.S. base in Jordan using F-35 and F-16 fighter jets

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Iran announced a missile strike on the U.S. Al-Azraq Air Base, where, according to its claims, F-35, F-15, and F-16 fighter jets were stationed, along with key U.S. military facilities.

According to Iranian sources, 12 ballistic missiles were fired at the base. The targets of the attack were reportedly the locations of U.S. aircraft, military infrastructure, and the airbase’s command center.

The IRGC claims that the strike destroyed facilities at Al-Azraq Air Base and took out “a large number of fighter jets.” However, there is currently no independent confirmation of this information.

Amid the escalating situation, Kuwait temporarily closed its airspace and rerouted flights. According to international media reports, this decision was made following a series of Iranian attacks on U.S. military facilities in the region.

Earlier, a Kuwaiti state agency reported that the country’s air defense systems had intercepted “hostile targets.”

In addition, the IRGC announced strikes on U.S. air bases in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The day before, on June 10, the Jordanian Armed Forces reported intercepting five ballistic missiles launched by Iran toward the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which is used by U.S. military forces.

According to Jordanian officials, all missiles were destroyed by air defense systems, and debris fell within the country’s territory. There have been no reports of casualties, injuries, or significant damage.

The situation in the Middle East continues to escalate, and the parties’ statements regarding the results of the attacks have yet to be independently confirmed.

This was reported by the Iranian news agency Tasnim, citing a statement from the IRGC.

Prior to this, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all vessels and threatened to use force against ships attempting to pass through the strategic waterway. At the same time, U.S. Central Command denied this information, stating that shipping in the strait area continues.

Earlier, Iran launched a missile strike on the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where U.S. military personnel and contractors were stationed. The attack resulted in minor injuries and damaged U.S. drones. The incident occurred amid U.S. efforts to negotiate an extension of the ceasefire with Tehran.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is alive and continues to interact with his inner circle, though he does so cautiously and primarily through written messages and intermediaries. Officials in Washington note that his activity has been increasing recently.
