Spain is sending 200 marines and military equipment to Romania

The Spanish Navy’s Marine Brigade is sending a mechanized tactical subgroup to Romania, consisting of over 200 soldiers and nearly 40 vehicles.
It will be integrated into a multinational brigade led by France.
The planned activities will be similar to those already conducted by the Spanish Armed Forces in Latvia and Slovakia.
These will include the unit’s own training exercises, exercises organized by the multinational brigade stationed in Romania, as well as activities defined in cooperation with the Romanian Armed Forces.
The tactical subgroup will consist primarily of personnel from the 10th Company of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion and will have up to 13 Pirana IIIC combat vehicles. A platoon equipped with 12.7-mm heavy machine guns mounted on 4x4 Vantac ST5 vehicles from the 1st Airborne Battalion will also be deployed.
The contingent will also include Spike anti-tank missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, demining teams, a logistics support unit, and medical personnel.
