Spain has lifted the state of emergency due to the wildfires
Spanish authorities have lifted the state of emergency that was declared due to large-scale wildfires in the provinces of Ávila and Madrid.
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated that the fires have been brought under control and that emergency services have effectively dealt with the aftermath of the disaster.
Efforts are now focused on containing the remaining hot spots and preventing the fire from spreading again.

As a reminder, authorities in France have announced a new evacuation due to the worsening wildfire situation. Nearly 4,000 people are to be evacuated from the Lacanau area on the Atlantic coast.
More than 300,000 people have been evacuated in France and Spain due to massive wildfires that have engulfed regions of Southern Europe. In southwestern France, in the Gironde region, more than 220,000 residents have left their homes. The fire there has spread across approximately 32,700 hectares.
As a reminder, French passengers who purchased train tickets to the region around Bordeaux will be able to exchange or refund them free of charge. This decision was made due to the large-scale wildfires that have complicated the situation in the area.
