Israel has no specific intelligence warning of attack before elections — Jerusalem Post

Israeli officials said that the country is on heightened alert but has no specific intelligence warning of a possible attack ahead of the elections. The Jerusalem Post reports this, citing several Israeli officials.

Statement after Netanyahu's remarks

The comments came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a visit to the Tel Nof airbase, said that Israel had indications of possible attempts by its enemies to attack the country before the elections.

One of the publication's sources said that the Israeli side is closely monitoring Iran's actions. He also noted that an escalation in the West Bank could quickly develop into a much broader escalation. At the same time, he said, there is currently no specific intelligence warning.

Iran named a potential threat

Another Israeli official suggested that Tehran could at any moment decide to launch missiles at Israel amid U.S. economic and military pressure. However, he stressed that this scenario is currently regarded as a possibility rather than an immediate threat.

That evening, Netanyahu held a security situation assessment. According to one official, the meeting had been scheduled several days before it took place, and the venue was moved at the last minute to a more secure location.
