Polish president to appoint Wiesław Kukuła for another term — Interia

Polish President and Commander-in-Chief Karol Nawrocki has decided to appoint General Wiesław Kukuła for another term as Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces. The decision, announced by the head of Poland's National Security Bureau, Bartosz Grodecki, is to take effect on October 10, 2026.

As Interia reports, Grodecki published the announcement on the social network X. He clarified that it concerns Kukuła's next term as Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces. In the statement, the official congratulated the general and wished him further success.

Appointment ceremony

The ceremony for presenting the act of appointment is to take place on November 11, 2026. According to the head of the National Security Bureau, it will be held during the ceremonial observance of Poland's National Independence Day. Grodecki also described Kukuła's position as that of the first soldier of the Republic.
